Pastry Chef at Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria Brussels is responsible for the creation, preparation, and presentation of desserts and pastries within the establishment. They ensure the quality of products and oversee compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Design and develop pastry and dessert recipes, innovating while respecting tradition.
* Manage daily production according to the needs of the restaurant, hotel, or boutique.
* Supervise, train, and lead the pastry team (commis, apprentices, etc.).
* Control the quality of raw materials and finished products.
* Organize and plan work to optimize production timelines.
* Ensure strict compliance with hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards.
* Participate in managing orders and stock.
* Collaborate with the head chef and other teams to ensure a harmonious offering.
* Participate in menu development by proposing creations adapted to seasons and events.
SKILLS:
* Excellent mastery of classical and modern pastry techniques.
* Creativity and aesthetic sense for dessert presentation.
* Organizational skills and team management.
* Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP).
* Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
* Good time management and prioritization skills.
