Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage the accounting and financial follow-up of Joint ventures involved in project-based activities. The Senior Accountant will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
The position also includes a supporting leadership component, as the Senior Accountant will progressively act as back-up to the Team Leader of the department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the full accounting cycle for several Joint Ventures.
2. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly reporting.
3. Ensure accurate bookkeeping, including journal entries, reconciliations, and closing processes.
4. Monitor cash flow, project costs, and partner allocations.
5. Prepare partner reporting and financial summaries for joint venture participants.
6. Coordinate with project managers, partners, auditors, and external accountants.
7. Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations and internal procedures.
8. Assist with audit processes and provide required documentation.
9. Improve and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls.
10. Act as back-up for the Team Leader, supporting coordination within the accounting team when required.
Qualifications
11. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
12. Minimum 5 years of experience in A to Z accounting, preferably in project accounting, joint ventures, or construction environments.
13. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
14. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
15. Ability to work independently and proactively while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
16. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple entities/projects simultaneously.
Language Requirements
17. Fluent in English, and
18. French or Dutch (professional working proficiency).
Additional Assets
19. Experience with joint ventures accounting.
20. Experience working in international or project-driven environments.
21. Knowledge of ERP accounting systems.
