Job Description
Joining our Data Team as a Data Solutions Architect, you’ll be the strategic architect of our data future. You design high-performance, scalable architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and enable a team of Data Engineers to reach new heights of operational excellence. We’re looking for a leader who blends deep-dive coding experience with coaching of an autonomous, high-standard team.
System Design and Architecture: Define end-to-end technical flows on the GCP stack ensuring alignment with corporate standards.
API Subject Matter Expert: Lead the design of API architectures—generic, sector-specific, or dedicated to front-end applications.
Translation of Business Requirements: Work closely with Product Owners to convert functional requirements into concrete technical work packages.
Technical Mentorship: Guide Data Engineers in solving complex problems and foster professional growth of the team.
Data Governance: Oversee the design of the Data Warehouse in BigQuery and strictly monitor security and privacy standards (IAM, data protection).
AI Architecture: Define implementation standards for AI and Machine Learning models within the data platform.
Financial Optimization (FinOps): Design financially sustainable solutions by continuously optimizing GCP resources and query performance.
Innovation and PoCs: Conduct Proof of Concepts to evaluate new tools and keep the technological stack future-proof.
Quality Assurance: Perform periodic reviews to guarantee implementations align with the initial architectural designs.
Qualifications
Hold a university degree, preferably in engineering or science.
Relevant experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect, or similar technical expert role.
Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and associated data transformation solutions.
Strong understanding of AI-related architectures and solutions.
Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is a significant asset.
Strong analytical skills to reduce complex problems into elegant solutions.
Strong interpersonal skills—persuade others, build trust, and stay attuned to team needs.
Autonomous, proactive, and maintain continuous technological surveillance for innovation.
