You'll be the person who turns millions of signals into intelligence that global enterprises depend on. As Senior Data Scientist / Engineer, you scale the analytics engine, push the boundaries of NLP and information extraction, and turn research into production-ready features that help strategy teams anticipate what's coming next.
This is a role based in Ghent, full-time, proven experience as Data Scientist, ML Engineer, Researcher, or Data Engineer (PhD is a strong plus).
What you'll do
* Build, maintain, and optimize large-scale data pipelines ingesting, cleaning, enriching, and indexing millions of documents.
* Develop and refine algorithms for NLP, topic detection, event extraction, entity recognition, and information extraction.
* Translate research prototypes into production-ready features that expand Trendtracker's proprietary trend scoring framework.
* Experiment with new models, evaluate research ideas on large datasets, and collaborate with AI/LLM engineers to integrate outputs into product features.
* Optimize MongoDB and Elasticsearch queries, indexing strategies, and storage models for performance and scalability.
* Ensure all models and pipelines follow SDLC standards: code reviews, automated tests, CI/CD, reproducibility.
* Monitor data flows, automate error handling, and ensure high availability across our Google Cloud + Kubernetes architecture.
Who this role fits
* You already know your way around large-scale, messy, real-world datasets and feel at home turning data into intelligence.
* You have academic-level understanding of NLP, information extraction, text analytics, or semantic modeling.
* You enjoy working closely with engineering, product, and AI teams instead of being "the data scientist in the corner."
* You're comfortable with Python, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Git, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD. Time series or graph analytics is a plus.
