Context
Our client is an international player in the medical devices industry, operating in a highly regulated and quality-driven environment.
Logistics operations are managed through an external Third-Party Logistics (3PL) warehouse located in the Antwerp area, which plays a key role in storing and preparing materials for shipment.
Given the regulatory requirements of the sector, accuracy, traceability and strict process compliance are essential. The role requires an on-site presence of more than 80% to ensure smooth daily operations and full alignment between physical stock and SAP S/4HANA data.
Mission Objective
As Logistics Operations Coordinator, you will ensure the optimal management of an external 3PL warehouse and secure all related logistics flows.
You will oversee goods receipt, storage, picking, packing and shipment activities while ensuring full accuracy in SAP S/4HANA and the 3PL platform.
Acting as a key interface between internal teams (Projects, Manufacturing, Shipping) and the 3PL partner, you will guarantee operational excellence, inventory accuracy and on-time shipment preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Coordination & Supervision
* Coordinate and supervise all physical warehouse activities at the 3PL site (receiving, checking, storing, picking & packing).
* Ensure resources are properly organized to meet SLA and secure safe co-activity.
* Monitor workload and provide structured “Start & End of Shift” status reports.
* Perform picking activities when required.
Process & Inventory Management
* Ensure strict consistency between ERP (SAP S/4HANA) data and physical warehouse stock.
* Guarantee parts availability according to internal and external customer requirements.
* Ensure correct labelling, storage zoning and preparation according to planning.
* Maintain up-to-date warehouse data in ERP at all times.
* Coordinate and oversee periodic inventory counts at the 3PL warehouse.
* Analyze and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventory.
Logistics Flow & Exception Management
* Secure smooth flows between suppliers / Beam Factory and external storage.
* Manage urgencies and priority requests (JIT / PO fast track).
* Handle operational exceptions (order cancellations, lost items, blocked flows).
* Escalate blocking points to management when required.
* Ensure regular and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders (shift reports, email follow-up).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Act as main point of contact between 3PL warehouse, manufacturing coordination, reception and shipping teams.
* Collaborate with shipment teams (outbound priorities vs site support).
* Participate in coordination meetings with warehouse stakeholders.
* Coordinate workload with other Operations Coordinators.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
* Lead 5S initiatives within the warehouse environment.
* Support onboarding and training of newcomers.
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
* Ensure strict compliance with EHS rules and promote a zero-incident mindset.
* Act as back-up Transport Administrator when required.
Profile
Experience & Skills
* Proven experience in warehouse operations coordination, logistics or 3PL environment.
* Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA (MM/WM modules preferred).
* Experience managing inventory accuracy and ERP consistency.
* Comfortable in a hands-on, operational and fast-paced environment.
* Stress-resistant and able to manage priorities effectively.
Languages
* Fluent in Dutch and good command of French and English.
Technical Skills
* SAP S/4HANA (MM / WM modules).
* Microsoft Office.
* Warehouse / loading container software.
* Structured email communication & reporting.
