Job DescriptionAs a Senior Mechanical Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and directing construction projects from conception through to completion.You will review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs, while overseeing all onsite and offsite construction activities to ensure compliance with building and safety regulations. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and industry experts to successfully deliver complex, cutting-edge projects.
Key responsibilities include:Determining project schedule requirements and supporting the development of project schedulesPreparing and managing 12-week look-ahead programmesReporting on site progress and highlighting future issues/roadblocks to the Main Contractor and Contracts ManagerConducting regular site safety walks and ensuring timely close-out of actionsConducting regular quality inspections and ensuring prompt resolution of issuesLeading commissioning activities, ensuring timely completion and proactive resolution of roadblocks
Skills & Requirements10+ years' experience in a Construction Manager / Senior Supervisor role (pharmaceutical experience essential)5+ years' experience managing teams (up to 10 supervisors and 100+ craft personnel), including manpower planning, execution and productivity managementExperience with weekly reporting to a Contracts ManagerExcellent technical knowledge of piping (supporting, installation, welding, testing, sloping and handover)Strong understanding of quality requirements associated with piping installationProficient in Navisworks 3D model navigation, isometric drawings, and supervisor work pack monitoringStrong experience managing project schedulesCommercial awarenessGood knowledge of construction health & safety requirements, including implementation of RAMS, SPAs and other H&S processesBackground in piping installation; hygienic piping and orbital welding experience advantageousThird-level qualification in Construction / Mechanical Engineering (advantageous)
