For a banking customer in Brussels, we are searching for a Legal Advisor to be part of a team of four lawyers. It is very important that candidates can get up to speed quickly, therefore it is a pre-requisite to have Belgian taxation knowledge within banking.
Responsibilities
* Monitoring regulatory developments relevant to the banking sector, particularly on tax matters, ensuring their correct interpretation, and contributing to their implementation within the bank.
* Knowledge of tax - added value (VAT)
* You provide legal support to the bank's operational departments.
* You conduct legal reviews of contracts with our partners.
* You are responsible for tax-related matters.
* You handle customer complaints submitted to the Ombudsman.
Profile
* Master's degree in law with at least 2 years of professional experience in Belgian banking law.
* Expertise in taxation / knowledge of tax - added value (VAT)
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Rigorous and meticulous.
* Strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication and writing skills.
* Knowledge of the banking sector and financial markets.
* You are a team player, hands-on, and able to think proactively and propose realistic solutions tailored to the constraints of our sector.
