What you will do
We are looking for a motivated and curious Junior Data Scientist to join our high-impact Data Science team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to grow technical skills and apply data science to solve real business problems. You will collaborate closely with experienced data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to support analytics initiatives and contribute to building data-driven solutions. If you are passionate about data, eager to learn, and excited to apply statistical and machine learning techniques to real-world challenges, we’d love to meet you.
A typical day
* Support the development of data science solutions, including exploratory analyses, predictive models, and reporting tools.
* Collaborate with senior team members to deliver insights that inform product, marketing, operations, and strategic decisions.
* Participate in the design, execution, and analysis of experiments (e.g., A/B testing).
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines and feature engineering workflows.
* Assist in building, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models under the guidance of senior data scientists.
* Communicate data-driven findings through clear reports, visualizations, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Follow best practices for coding, documentation, and version control.
* Work with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and analysts, to ensure solutions meet business needs.
* Stay up to date with new tools, methodologies, and industry trends in data science and machine learning.
What you need to succeed
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
* 1-2 years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or related roles (internships and academic projects count!)
* Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Solid foundation in Python for data analysis and modeling.
* Proficiency in SQL and working with structured data.
* Basic understanding of statistical concepts, hypothesis testing, and machine learning fundamentals.
* Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, or equivalent).
* Enthusiasm for learning new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies.
* Good communication skills and the ability to present results clearly.
* Experience working on projects either through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
* Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Bonus Points For
* Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
* Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
* Exposure to machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
* Understanding of basic MLOps concepts or pipelines.
* Knowledge of Jupyter Notebooks and data storytelling practices.

* Your first contact with CoverWallet will be through an HR interview with one of our colleagues from the Talent Acquisition area, who will tell you everything about our company and its history, as well as the details of the position, functions and your future conditions. We would love to know your professional and academic career, and of course, your motivations and expectations for a new professional project. We will be happy to answer all your questions!
* Do we have a match? Let’s move on to your First Technical Interview! You will meet two of the colleagues from the Data Science team, who will explain to you in more detail what the team's day-to-day life is and its responsibilities. They will be very interested in expanding information about your experience as a Data Scientist as well as your knowledge of our main technological environments.
* If everything has gone well and you have impressed our colleagues... we advance to the second stage of the process! We will send you a data challenge based on a case study to find out your technical level and you will have a maximum of 7 days to complete it.
* If you've made it this far, things are getting interesting... It's time for your Final Interview! In this case, you will have the opportunity to meet one of our Heads of Data and Engineering, who will close the selection process with an interview aimed at getting to know you not only on a professional and technical level, but also on a personal level, so that both of you can reach the conclusion of whether the purpose of our project fits with your professional aspirations.
