About the position:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Country Manager Sales & Marketing to lead commercial operations in Belgium and France. This role combines strategic account leadership, business development, and team management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the steel or refractory industry, a hands-on approach to sales, and the leadership maturity to potentially succeed the current Regional Director within a few years.
Key Accountabilities:
• Full P&L responsibility for Belgium and France.
• Lead and grow key customer relationships, particularly with major steel producers.
• Drive business development in Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and non-ferrous markets.
• Manage and support a team of 6 technical service professionals.
• Develop and execute annual sales, marketing, and budget plans.
• Coordinate with R&D teams to tailor product trials and solutions for local clients.
• Ensure service continuity and customer satisfaction across both countries.
• Monitor competitive landscape and adjust strategy accordingly.
• Support recruitment and team development initiatives.
Preconditions:
• University degree in engineering, business, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in sales or service management, ideally in the steel, refractory, or nonferrous metals industries.
• Proven track record in key account development and solution-based selling.
• Technical understanding of refractory applications and value drivers preferred.
• Fluent in French and English (Dutch is a plus).
• Willingness to travel frequently across Belgium, France, and occasionally to Germany and Ireland
• High level of autonomy, strategic thinking, and resilience in a competitive market
