Your Role: Shape the Future of Mobility Tech
We're transitioning from a legacy system to a modern microservices architecture, and you'll play a pivotal role in that transformation. Our tech stack includes Java 21+, Spring Boot, Apache Camel, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and Azure Cloud.
You'll collaborate closely with a driven development team, designing software used by cities, municipalities, and police departments with real social impact.
Your responsibilities:
* Lead the migration from legacy systems to a modern architecture
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications
* Mentor junior developers and contribute to a high-performance engineering culture
* Implement best practices for testing, automation, and CI/CD
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
* Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps
Who are we looking for?
Must-have skills:
* Must speak Dutch as well as English fluently
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
* Strong proficiency in Java 17+ (preferably Java 21) and Spring Boot
* Experience with designing scalable systems and APIs
* Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
* Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
* Strong communication skills and a team mindset
* Passion for writing clean, testable, and maintainable code
Nice-to-have skills:
* Experience with Apache Camel or integration frameworks
* Knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
* SaaS or B2B software experience
* Familiarity with domain-driven and event-driven architecture
