Lead SCADA Engineer – Dutch/English – ALTEN Belgium
The Role
ALTEN Belgium is looking for a Lead SCADA Engineer to join the Test Facilities team in Wilrijk, Belgium. You will support, maintain, and further expand an existing WinCC OA SCADA system, gradually taking ownership of its rollout to additional test installations.
You will work in an innovative environment at the intersection of IT, automation, and testing, playing a key role in the professionalization and expansion of the SCADA landscape.
Your Responsibilities
* Support and maintain the existing WinCC OA SCADA system
* Analyze, debug, and improve existing functionalities to gain in-depth system knowledge
* Develop and roll out new functionalities to additional test installations
* Program using the C-based WinCC OA language and develop .NET applications in Visual Studio
* Set up reliable communication with other systems via networks and OPC UA
* Work closely with the Test Facilities team and report to the team lead and project lead
* Build basic knowledge of PLC systems and electrical installations to provide limited automation support
Your Profile
* Strong experience in C programming and .NET development
* Experience with Visual Studio and building .NET applications
* Good knowledge of network communication and OPC UA
* Experience with WinCC OA is an asset, but not mandatory — willingness to learn is essential
* Background in IT with interest in industrial automation, or automation background with strong programming skills
* Basic knowledge of PLC systems and electrical installations is a plus
* Independent, analytical, curious, and proactive mindset
* Languages: Dutch (fluent), English (working proficiency)
