Ivemar is a major player in the transport and storage of both conditioned and non-conditioned goods requiring special care or handling. Ivemar provides freight solutions focused on GDP for manufacturers in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

Ivemar has 4 locations in Belgium: Saintes, Brainne-l’Alleud, Lot, and BRUcargo (3 warehouses). The organization consists of approximately 50 employees, of which 35 drivers.

Our operations take place both domestically and internationally, primarily in Europe and its border regions. Ivemar operates with a modern fleet of vehicles that are perfectly suited to their tasks.

Job content

The Managing Director of Ivemar holds full accountability for the performance, development, and sustainable growth of the company. As the senior leader of a relatively small but strategic business unit, this role demands an entrepreneurial, hands-on approach with deep operational involvement and full P&L responsibility.

The Managing Director leads all functional areas - including Operations, Commercial, Finance, HR, Client Services, and Quality - and acts as the company’s local legal representative. This includes business development, sales contract negotiations, hiring decisions, supplier management, and operational execution. The role reports to the CEO Europe.

Essential duties & responsibilities

* Full P&L Ownership – To manage the financial performance of Ivemar with direct oversight of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability.
* Business Development & Commercial Leadership – To represent the company externally, lead business development efforts, build strategic client relationships, negotiate sales contracts, and lead the growth of the customer portfolio.
* Operational Management – To supervise daily operations across transport planning, warehousing, cross-docking, and client services to ensure efficient service delivery and compliance with GDP and Group standards.
* Team Leadership & HR – To hire, manage, and develop all team members across functions. Drive a performance culture with clear expectations, coaching, and accountability.
* Procurement & Supplier Management – To directly oversee procurement of key operational assets, services, and equipment required to run the business effectively.
* Legal & Financial Representation – To act as the legal signatory of the Ivemar entity with authority to sign contracts, approve payments, and represent the company in legal and administrative matters.
* Compliance & Quality – To ensure full regulatory compliance with national and EU transport, pharma GDP, and labour regulations. Maintain and improve the local Quality Management System.
* Strategic Execution – To elaborate the BP 2025-2027...
* Health & Safety – To promote a safety-first culture and ensure working conditions are compliant with applicable laws and internal policies.
* Reporting – To provide regular business performance updates to CEO Europe, escalating risks or opportunities in a timely manner.
* The employee has the responsibility to act safely and environmentally consciously:
* Safety: The employee must abide to any prevention measure and measure of security and safety. They must at all times treat safety as a matter of priority for themselves and others. Any unsafe situation must be reported immediately to the prevention consultant.
* Environment: the employee must behave within Ivemar in full awareness and respect for the environment. They support the correct application of environmental legislation, as well as encourage their team to follow the environmental guidelines and regulations, in order to contribute achieving the company’s environmental objectives: e.g. paper & printing management; energy-saving measures such as turning off the lights; sorting of waste.
* GxP: all activities are performed in conformity with GxP (Belgium), ISO 9001 (Belgium) and ISO 14001 (Belgium). Each employee will at all times abide to the GxP rules and immediately report situations in which GxP is compromised.

Experience & Competences

* A 10-years’ experience in a management position, as Operations Manager or Commercial Manager or Managing Director in dedicated Transport.
* Familiar and effective with crisis management and navigating sensitive situations.
* Highly motivated self-starter, with an entrepreneurial and positive attitude, strong work ethics, and critical attention to detail.
* Commercial acumen and strong customer relationship skills, ability to network extensively in order to develop and strengthen the market share.
* Flexibility and responsiveness to change, and with the ability to lead and direct the work of others in a changing environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, to deal effectively with internal and external contacts ranging from executives to administrative levels.
* Excellent people management skills to provide constructive feedback, and motivate teammates, at all levels.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French, Dutch and English. Any other EU language will be a plus.
* Pharma GDP Supply Chain Transport knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering/ Logistics & Transportation/ Economics & business management) or equivalent experience.
* Holding “CPC for the Road Transport Management” is a plus.
