Job Title: Field Vision Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a technically strong and customer-oriented Field Vision Engineer to join our clients team. This role blends hands-on software engineering with field deployment work. You will collaborate closely with R&D to design and implement software-driven vision solutions, deploy them at customer sites, and provide ongoing configuration and debugging support. The ideal candidate combines solid C++/Python development skills with practical experience integrating software into real-world industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage directly with customers to gather technical requirements and understand real-world use cases.
* Translate customer needs into software specifications and implementation plans.
* Develop and customise vision algorithms, data-processing pipelines, and system logic primarily in C++ and Python.
* Collaborate with R&D on software architecture, library/tool selection, and performance optimisation.
* Build interfaces between the vision software and external systems such as automation controllers, robotics platforms, or on-premise servers.
* Install, configure, and validate software-driven vision systems at customer sites.
* Integrate software with on-site hardware components (cameras, sensors, networking).
* Optimise system performance based on real production conditions.
* Troubleshoot software, integration, and system-level bugs under field conditions.
* Perform on-site and remote debugging of C++/Python code, image pipelines, and edge-device configurations.
* Provide training to customer engineering teams on usage, maintenance, and system updates.
Required Skills & Experience
* Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
* Strong hands-on experience with C++ and Python, including debugging and optimisation.
* Solid understanding of computer vision fundamentals (e.g., image processing, feature extraction, 2D/3D techniques), experience with OpenCV or similar libraries preferred.
* Experience deploying software on embedded systems, edge devices, or Linux environments.
* Comfortable working on customer sites and resolving issues in dynamic industrial settings.
* Excellent troubleshooting abilities spanning software, hardware integration, and networking.
* Strong communication skills and ability to break down complex technical topics for customers.
