Role OverviewThe Workplace Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the digital workplace environment, ensuring seamless IT infrastructure operations, M365 services, and end-user support. The role combines system administration, cloud services, and collaboration tools management, with strong interaction with IT, internal stakeholders, and business units.Key ResponsibilitiesIT Infrastructure & Systems AdministrationManage and support Windows Server (2019–2022) and Linux environmentsAdminister Active Directory (Domain Controllers, GPOs, OUs, LDAP groupsPerform user and access management, including security groupsSupport network operations (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNMonitor system performance, logs, and ensure patch management & updateApply cybersecurity fundamentals (firewalls, antivirus, access control, vulnerability handlingExecute basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation)Support backup and disaster recovery procedureTroubleshoot infrastructure and system issueManage and monitor virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V – optionalWork with application servers (WebLogic, TomcatPerform basic database handling (SQL fundamentals)Microsoft 365 & Digital WorkplaceAdminister SharePoint Online (SPO)Site Collection Administrator responsibilitiesPermissions and governance managementManage Microsoft Teams settings (group setup, privacy)Support and promote modern ways of workingProvide training and coaching to end users (M365 tools, permissions, privacy)Participate in governance meetingsM365 Core Team (twice weekly)Local Champions (weekly)Network Contact Points (monthly)Analyze and follow up business requests and M365-related projectsManage knowledge repositories and collaboration toolsRestricted Pools / File ServersAdminister MARE file server environmentsManage:Active Directory accessSecurity groupsGPOs and OU structuresEnsure secure and compliant access to restricted dataAWS Cloud – SRV4DEV (Developers Service)Manage AWS environments, including:Workspaces, EC2, RDS, S3 bucketsIAM users and policiesMFA setup via APIUser management (API-based)Billing and cost tracking (AWS Console & iCOCO)Participate in SRV4DEV governance meetingsManage subscriptions (e.G., Amazon Q/Kiro)DWP-IRM & Service ManagementManage user requests via ServiceNow (Staff Center)IT equipment requestsAccess rights (shared drives, DLs, tools)Software approval workflowsAdminister workplace tools:OMS (Ownership Management System)Participate in IT/CAM governance meetingsManage software licenses compliance and allocationExecute bi-annual chargeback exercisesSupport rollout and improvements:Laptop deploymentVPN setupDomain (Welcome) management policiesKey Skills & ExperienceTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of Windows Server & LinuxExpertise in Active Directory & Identity ManagementGood understanding of networks and protocolsExperience with M365 (SharePoint, Teams, governance)Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, M365)Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash)Knowledge of monitoring tools and ITSM platformsExposure to virtualization and application serversBasic SQL knowledgeSoft SkillsStrong problem-solving and troubleshootingExcellent communication and stakeholder managementAbility to train and support end usersProactive, structured, and detail-orientedOnsite presence required 4 days per week
