The Opportunity
A well-established food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced
Maintenance Supervisor
to take ownership of daily maintenance operations while supporting long-term reliability improvements across the site in Ghent.
This is a key leadership position within the organization, responsible for balancing reactive and preventive maintenance activities, managing technicians, and ensuring plant uptime through effective planning and execution.

Your Role
Lead and supervise the site maintenance team across mechanical and electrical disciplines.
Coordinate daily maintenance activities, breakdown response, and planned shutdown work.
Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are completed effectively.
Support reliability initiatives to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Prioritize workloads and allocate resources across maintenance tasks.
Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
Act as the link between operations, engineering, and maintenance departments.
Monitor external contractor performance while supporting long-term internal capability growth.
Drive continuous improvement across maintenance systems and processes.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, KPIs, and reporting.
Your Profile
5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance leadership or supervision.
Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance within manufacturing environments.
Experience managing technicians, contractors, and daily maintenance priorities.
Good understanding of preventive maintenance and reliability principles.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Able to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Fluent in English; Dutch is strongly preferred.
Bonus Skills
Experience in food, chemical, process, or heavy industrial sectors.
Knowledge of CMMS / maintenance management systems.
Background in reliability engineering or asset improvement projects.
Experience developing internal maintenance teams.
