The Role
You will step in as our first dedicated Finance hire, making this a unique opportunity to own and build the entire function alongside the CFO. This is a pivotal "jack of all trades" role, combining hands-on accounting with a passion for systems and automation. You will use your deep understanding of finance to build scalable, automated processes that maximize efficiency and impact.
Because our software serves as the financial and transactional backbone for our customers’ EV charging costs, the integrity of our financial systems is paramount. You will ensure accurate bookkeeping and clean data flows, which is crucial not only for closing our books but also for directly delivering value and trust to our customers. By focusing on robust automation, you will make the entire financial journey a breeze for our customers, strengthening customer relationships and driving long-term value creation.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced scale-up. We need a resourceful individual comfortable with owning the end-to-end process (e.g. quote-to-cash), including performing hands-on bookkeeping entries but going far beyond that. If you are quick on your feet, self-starting and ready to learning and adapt fast, and you want a Finance role centered at the critical intersection of Finance, Product and Operations, this is the ideal opportunity to apply your financial expertise in a truly cross-functional context.
What You'll Be Doing
* Revenue & A/R Accounting: Own the entire revenue recognition and Accounts Receivable cycle, ensuring data integrity and timely collection. You’ll work directly with our Ops & Product team as well as our customers' A/P and Accounting teams to ensure the processing of charging costs is a breeze for our customers.
* A/P Accounting & G/L Management: Help drive the monthly closing process and ensure timely, accurate financial results. You will support with and should be comfortable performing accounting entries yourself as needed.
* Cash Flow & Liquidity Management: Monitor and manage company cash flow by building new and improving existing reports on working capital and creditor exposure to ensure optimal financial health.
* Business Partnering: Act as a critical partner to our Commercial team, proactively translating financial data into actionable insights to drive strategic decisions, specifically related to new customer acquisition, pricing, and high-value growth proposals.
* Automation: Constantly seek to automate recurring tasks to free up time for strategic analysis.
* Process & Systems Optimization: Improve our core financial systems and processes to maximize efficiency and ensure the integrity of our financial data. Support on the evaluation and implementation of new tooling as necessary.
* Statutory Compliance & Tax Management: Oversee all local statutory reporting, VAT, corporate tax, and other regulatory filings, ensuring full compliance.
You’ll Thrive Here If You...
* Have 3+ years of accounting and/or controlling experience, ideally as an accountant or business controller in a corporate or Big-4.
* Have prior experience in the energy or mobility sector and/or working with businesses that handle high transactional volumes (e.g., SaaS, FinTech) is a significant plus.
* Are a self-starter who thrives on ownership and can translate high-level ideas into tangible, rapid results. You think big, act fast, and make it happen.
* You enjoy accounting & administrative tasks because they offer the constant potential to be improved and streamlined. You see automation as the default and proactively build scalable, efficient systems & processes to move beyond manual processes.
* Are genuinely passionate about sustainable mobility and the role of innovation within the EV ecosystem.
* Full working proficiency in Dutch and English is a must. Proficiency in French is a strong advantage.
* Possess the confidence and clarity to communicate complex financial matters effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
* Obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. A Master’s degree and/or relevant certifications are an advantage.
