Position
The ESA Academy is ESA's overarching educational programme for University students. Its objective is to enhance the students’ educational experience and gain both practical and theoretical know-how and expertise in various disciplines, ranging from space sciences to engineering, space medicine, spacecraft operations, project and risk management, product and quality assurance, standardisation and much more.
The successful candidate will support ESA Academy, which is run in close collaboration with European universities and is designed to complement academic education.
Within Space Applications Services the position is in the Services Department, Training & Operations Team.
The candidate will mainly report to an on-site Line Manager and to the Space Applications Services Training & Operations Team Lead.

Tasks and Responsibilities
In support to the ESA Education programme, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Support to ESA Education resources development, including but not limited to:
o Liaison with the experts and lecturers to establish courses objectives, requirements, format and schedules
o Monitor the development and review of the lectures, workshops, case-studies and exercises
o Conduct of condensed dry-runs
* Implement the educational programmes for University students, including coordination of the call for applicants and applications selection, coordination and attendance to lectures, collection and analysis of feedback
* Set-up of educational initiatives promoting the use of ISS and other space facilities
* Increase of the awareness of the ESA space programmes and the space sector at large in the European education communities
* Outreach and promotion activities.
Skills and Experience
* Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, Space Systems Engineering, or equivalent
* At least 4 years of professional experience
* Proven experience in Project Management with ability to effectively:
o Coordinate work contributions from several different parties
o Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders
* Proven experience in event, workshop or training organization
* Experience in training, eLearning development, instructional system design will be considered an asset
* CubeSat (or SmallSat) engineering experience will be considered an asset
* A proactive approach, with initiative and Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to:
o Adhere to strict standards of confidentiality
o Synthesise, summarise and draw conclusions
o Work independently and in distributed international teams
* Strength to cope with schedules and deadlines
* Excellent written and spoken English.
