As a project engineer you will drive new product development projects from early feasibility up to series production, working in a hybrid setup and reporting to the project lead within the Oil Free Air team. You will take ownership of technical decisions, coordinate cross-functional input and ensure that performance, cost and timing targets are met.
In this role you will translate the marketing and master specification into a clear technical concept and challenge the feasibility of different design options. You work closely with designers, test engineers, technical experts and suppliers to turn this concept into a robust product. You define the necessary calculations, create functional specifications, monitor prototype orders and follow up test programs together with the test team. Based on the test results, you identify corrective actions and drive them to completion.
As a project engineer you will coordinate design tasks with internal teams and our Indian design center, streamline cost and component choices with suppliers and manage the risks that affect timing, product cost and technical targets. You will independently handle smaller subprojects that support the main development project and prepare the technical documentation needed for release. After start of production you will follow up the product for roughly one year to ensure a smooth transition to the market.
You will collaborate with colleagues from marketing, production, purchasing and aftermarket, and you will work in an international environment where autonomy, ownership and critical thinking are key. In this role you will be expected to challenge assumptions, identify issues early and steer the project team toward a successful outcome.
