To strengthen their team in Belgium weare looking together with them for a MechanicalEngineer.
Functieomschrijving
In this role you will be directly supporting theProject Manager taking care of the mechanical engineering ofinstallations in accordance with applicable international norms andstandards, project requirements and projectstandards.
You will make sure that theinstallation complies with the project specifications and itis important you have experience with equipment design and it iseven better if you have experience with Steel Structuraldesign.
Main tasks andresponsibilities:
* Determining materialchoices
* Develop welding procedures inconsultation with external weldingengineer
* Selection and interpretation ofapplicable norms, codes and standards (international,customer-specific and/or internal)
* Mechanicaldesign calculations
* Coordination withsubcontractors and suppliers
* Assistance in thedaily follow-up of the activities during the realization of theproject.
* Monitoring the quality in theexecution of the project and during fabrication inparticular
* Drawing up checklists and purchaselists (mechanical)
* Follow-up of the ITP(Inspection and Test Plan) Carrying out checks and inspectionsduring fabrication & erection
* Compliancewith safety regulations
* Recognise opportunitiesfor value engineering (planning/spending of design-effort in orderto spend resourcesefficiently)
Functie-eisen
* Able to work independently with minimalsupervision
* Master degree or equivalent byexperience
* Practical experience of weldedconstructions, equipment construction andpiping
* Applied knowledge of the Microsoftpackage, Excel, Word, Outlook
* Experience inperforming and following projects in the chemical and petrochemicalindustry is an asset.
* Vessel design,structural design including strengthcalculations.
* Experience in designing flares,thermal oxidizers, refractory lined ovens, steam boilers is aplus.
* Hands-on experience using design andcalculation software
* Knowledge of CAD systemsInventor/Autocad is helpful
* Attention todetail
* Strong understanding of P&ID’s andPFD’s
* Participate in safety audits orsurveillances
* Willingness to travel up to10%
