Are you passionate about providing quality healthcare services in rural communities? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are seeking to appoint a General Practitioner (GP) to join the South Westland Area Practice. In this unique general practice of approximately 1,600 enrolled patients, you will work across five clinics between Hari Hari and Haast alongside a Nurse Practitioner and a team of highly skilled Rural Nurse Specialists. The natural beauty and tourism highlights of the region also bring significant numbers of tourists, which increases the variety and clinical interest of the role. As part of the Te Tai o Poutini Rural Generalist Team you will have excellent collegial and professional support working across a broad clinical scope.
The West Coast of the South Island is a rugged, isolated and beautiful part of Aotearoa New Zealand, stretching from Karamea in the north to Haast in the south. The coast is the largest geographical Te Whata Oralocality with a small population of 32,500. Providing health care in this environment is challenging, and our team has fully adopted a Rural Generalist Model to ensure an equitable, high level of care is delivered to our community. The Rural Generalist team is flexible, multidisciplinary and highly skilled; joining us will give you a raft of experience within the framework of community and rural hospital-based services.
Qualifications:
* Vocationally registered GP or on the pathway to achieving this
* Ability to gain registration with the New Zealand Medical Council
