For a global customer in Brussels, we are searching for a freelance IT generalist
with a broad technical background and a strong willingness to work across multiple domains, including infrastructure, applications, databases, automation, and IT operations.
As an IT Engineer, you will support the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of the company's IT environment. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, external partners, and internal teams to ensure reliable IT services while contributing to digital transformation initiatives and process improvements.
Responsibilities
* Support and maintain the company's IT systems, infrastructure, and business applications.
* Participate in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of IT solutions across multiple business functions.
* Assist with the administration and monitoring of servers, networks, databases, and cloud-based services.
* Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues affecting users and business operations.
* Contribute to application integrations, data management, and process automation initiatives.
* Develop and maintain scripts, tools, or small applications to improve operational efficiency.
* Support database maintenance, reporting activities, and data quality initiatives.
* Collaborate with software vendors and external service providers.
* Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, migrations, and digital transformation programs.
* Ensure compliance with internal security, governance, and operational standards.
* Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles.
* Provide technical guidance and support to end users and business stakeholders.
Profile
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a broad IT engineering, systems administration, application support, or technical operations role.
* General understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, databases, and software development principles.
* Experience troubleshooting technical issues across multiple technology domains.
* Familiarity with data management, reporting, or database environments.
* Understanding of software development concepts, scripting, or automation techniques.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
