Assignments We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a client in the automotive sector. As part of this mission-driven team, you will contribute to designing and developing air, cooling, and hydrogen systems for a wide range of in-house and customer projects. Your main responsibilities include: Defining project requirements and translating them into clear system specifications Conducting initial feasibility studies to assess project complexity and technical scope Developing design concepts that balance application needs and system-level requirements Utilizing advanced tools for system modelling, simulation, and initial concept validation Completing detailed part design with consideration for performance, cost, mass, NVH, safety, and manufacturability Collaborating with simulation teams to analyse both system-level and detailed part designs Working closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimise designs for production Releasing 2D drawings, following up on manufacturing processes, and assessing part quality at delivery Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback and drive system integration improvements Creating detailed 3D models and performing engineering studies (strength, clearance, fastening, etc.) Preparing 2D documentation including tolerances and technical notes The profile Background You hold a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Must Have Fluent in English (oral and written) Ability to perform technical studies using basic engineering calculations (mechanical, thermodynamic, etc.) Proficiency in reading, creating, and interpreting technical drawings and specifications Experience with 3D modelling software and basic simulation tools Understanding of the working principles of a Fuel Cell Module Familiarity with manufacturing technologies and their design constraints Strong team player, able to collaborate with designers, suppliers, and project management stakeholders Creative problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail Proven ability to deliver results on time Nice to Have Keen interest in the automotive industry and sustainable mobility Experience working in cross-functional or international environments Working environment at Akkodis Direct link with a Business Manager for personalised support Technical training to develop your skills Career prospects in a stimulating and innovation-driven environment A corporate culture focused on safety, quality, and sustainability Our recruitment process Stage 1: Initial telephone interview (15 min) with @Kenny, Talent Acquisition.
