Overview
Orise Manufacturing AI (formerly Yazzoom) is a team of AI/ML software specialists based in Ghent, Belgium, and part of the Digital Business Unit of Orise. We deliver AI-driven research and software solutions to optimize production processes. We’ve developed Orise Digital AI (formerly Yanomaly), a software tool for anomaly detection and predictive analytics on machine-generated data.
You will use various ML/AI/data science libraries and work on a variety of applications. You will also learn about state-of-the-art technologies including Elastic, Kafka, Kubernetes and Luigi. You will have the opportunity to work with industrial customers from sectors such as (petro-) chemical, pharma and biotech, paper and pulp, automotive, metallurgy and food-and-beverage.
Projects Selected examples of software solutions we have built for customers include:
* AI-based biometric signature verification for a mobile payment platform
* Automatic sorting of onions based on computer vision and AI
* Predictive modelling of prices and probability of winning second-hand cars in an online auction using AI
* Predictive modelling of failures in production processes using AI
* Vision-based detection of assembly mistakes in aluminum profiles
* Optimizing and controlling in real-time the use of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants based on predictions of electricity prices to help balance the electric grid
* Detecting anomalies in a variety of industrial processes using unsupervised AI algorithms
Your responsibilities
As part of the team, you’ll sharpen and expand your skills in data science and software engineering. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
* Applying data science expertise and Orise Digital AI algorithms to real-world industrial or IoT data: pre-processing, cleaning, training, and evaluating anomaly detection and predictive models in Jupyter notebooks or in the UI of Orise Digital AI.
* Communicating results to clients, gathering feedback, and refining your work accordingly.
* Enhancing algorithms in our scalable big-data platform for AI-based anomaly detection and predictive modelling.
* Developing and implementing AI/ML solutions for various data types (timeseries, tabular, etc.).
* Creating Proofs of Concept in notebooks and integrating algorithms into customer workflows, including training and support.
* Interfacing with diverse data sources via connector pipelines (SQL, Elasticsearch, Kafka, REST APIs, etc.).
* Tuning algorithms and data pipelines for optimal performance when required.
Your profile
You tick the following boxes:
* Proficiency in Python and its data science stack (pandas, scikit-learn, Jupyter, Luigi, etc.).
* Strong knowledge of data mining and machine learning. Experience with optimization algorithms is a plus.
* A passion for writing clean, maintainable, and robust code.
* A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in AI/ML, Computer Science, Bioengineering, Physics, or a related field.
* Fluency in English or Dutch (spoken and written).
* Bonus skills: familiarity with Kafka, Elastic, Grafana, or Linux scripting.
* A drive to learn and apply new technologies to solve real-world problems, with an interest in industrial production processes.
* A driver’s license and flexibility for occasional travel within Belgium and internationally.
