Key Responsibilities of the Lead Silicon Photonics Engineer - Heterogeneous IntegrationLead Heterogeneous Integration Efforts
* Develop and implement novel integration schemes and fabrication processes for active and passive photonic components.
* Oversee the full integration lifecycle within the Silicon Photonics platform, including characterization.
Architect and Optimize Process Modules
* Define innovative process architectures for integrating: Lasers, Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (SOAs), Photodetectors
* Focus on enhancing device performance while keeping processes cost-effective and scalable.
Cross-functional Collaboration
* Work closely with device design, process engineering, and system architecture teams.
* Ensure integration solutions are aligned with broader platform goals.
* Act as a technical liaison between design and fabrication teams to promote effective communication and problem-solving.
Project Management and Team Leadership
* Lead project planning, including setting timelines, managing resources, and tracking milestones.
* Provide guidance to team members and foster collaboration across different departments.
Feasibility Analysis and Innovation
* Conduct feasibility studies and prototyping for new integration approaches.
* Continuously explore advancements in Silicon Photonics, Semiconductor lasers, Heterogeneous material integration
Documentation and Communication
* Prepare comprehensive documentation of all process developments and experimental results.
* Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders across client's R&D teams.
Educational Background
PhD or Master's degree in Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field, with a focus on Silicon Photonics and heterogeneous integration.
Technical Skills

Proven expertise in photonic device fabrication, laser integration, and heterogeneous integration techniques
*
Strong understanding of device physics and key performance metrics
*
Knowledge of quantum dot gain media is advantageous
*
Experience with simulation and design tools such as Lumerical and COMSOL Multiphysics is highly desirable
Project Management

Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-phase R&D projects

Confident coordinating across teams and disciplines
