Freelance Construction Project Leader
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Construction Project Leader to oversee the full lifecycle of building projects, from design coordination to on-site execution and handover. This will involve acting as the main point of contact between the client, contractors, architects, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on objectives, timelines, and technical solutions.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in construction and be able to interpret engineering and architectural plans. They will also have proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders, ensuring work is carried out safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Planning and Scheduling: Manage project planning and scheduling, tracking progress against milestones and identifying any risks or delays.
* Budgeting and Cost Control: Control budgets and project costs, working closely with the Quantity Surveyor to monitor financial performance and approve variations.
* Site Coordination: Coordinate site activities, ensuring work is carried out safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
* Team Leadership: Act as the main point of contact between the client, contractors, architects, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on objectives, timelines, and technical solutions.
Requirements:
* Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience managing building projects.
* Construction Engineering Background: A Construction Engineering background is a must.
* Technical Skills: Strong technical background in construction and ability to interpret engineering and architectural plans.
* Language Skills: Fluent in French and Dutch, with a professional level of English.
* Qualifications: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders, familiar with local construction regulations, safety standards, and permitting processes.
