The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced SRE Engineer to join our team in Belgium, within the T&O CLS-Core Infra Engineering department, reporting to the SRE Team Leader. The role involves differentiating our company by enforcing scalability, speed, efficiency, and infrastructure reliability through ownership of service design, implementation, and maintenance. Your primary focus will be on building an automated, fault-tolerant PaaS infrastructure.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Managing infrastructure services managed by various teams, focusing on virtualization (VMware, Proxmox, Nutanix, HyperV, Openstack), SAN storage, backup strategies, hardware management, NTP services, HSM services, and IAM automation.
Who Are We Looking For
We seek big thinkers with a passion for driving positive change, a can-do attitude, and a hunger to learn. The ideal candidate will have:
* Academic or Bachelor’s level education or equivalent experience
* 3-5 years of Linux experience in a high-availability environment
* Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously in complex stacks
* Automation expertise, open-source enthusiasm, and a belief in Infrastructure as Code
* Security-minded approach and ability to balance stability vs. agility and operational work vs. software engineering
Must Have Skills
* Expertise in virtualization tech (VMware, Proxmox, Nutanix, HyperV, Openstack), storage, hardware, backup, NTP
* Experience with source control (Git, GitLab), CI/CD, Puppet, Terraform
* Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Puppet, Python, Go, JSON, Hiera)
* Understanding of network protocols (IP, DHCP, DNS, BGP, load balancing)
* Experience with multi-DC setups, hybrid infra (on-prem and cloud), AWS, Azure, and security standards (PCI-DSS)
Nice to Have
* Experience with ELK, Go, service discovery in micro-architecture, Windows/Linux servers, and multilingual skills (English, Dutch, French)
