Presentation of DSO Entity
DSO Entity represents over 800+ electricity Distribution System Operators (DSOs) of small, medium and large size, connecting 250+ million consumers across the 27 Member States of the European Union. Our European association aims to increase efficiencies in the electricity distribution networks in the EU and to ensure close cooperation with Transmission System Operators and ENTSO-E. As such, DSO Entity will take up a key role in the development and completion of the internal electricity market. It will act as a platform of cooperation between all the electricity DSOs with the overall objective of positioning itself as an expert body tackling essential matters such as developing network codes & guidelines, promoting the optimal & coordinated planning and operation of DSO/TSO networks, and sharing of best practices on flexibility, digitalisation of the distribution systems and the integration of renewable energy sources. DSO Entity was formally established in June 2021 after being legally mandated by the revision of the Electricity Regulation (2019/943) as part of the Clean Energy Package.

Main responsibilities
* Support the Senior Legal Manager in the preparation of Task Force (TF) Legal meetings and coordination of its workstreams.
* Provide legal advice on EU energy legislation to technical expert groups and task forces on topics covered by the legal team and TF Legal (e.g., cybersecurity, distributed flexibility, and/or data interoperability etc).
* Assist and support the Strategy, Legal and Regulatory department with legal advice.
* Develop and review documents of legal nature such as drafts for network codes (NC), terms and conditions or methodologies (TCMs), implementing acts, terms of references (ToR), memorandum of understandings (MoU) or statutes.
* Support the governance of DSO Entity on legal questions, i.e., development and interpretation of statutes, rules of procedures, terms of references.
* Support and advise the association on legal matters on different topics and tasks.
Requirements
* Master’s degree in law, preferably with additional specialisation in European law. Experience in European energy law and/or intellectual property law are an asset.
* A minimum of 3-year experience working in a legal profession, preferably in the energy area. Track record of drafting and reviewing legal opinions, contracts and agreements, and/or regulatory documents.
* Thorough understanding of EU processes, decision-making, EU-related organisations and strong knowledge of EU energy policy and legislation (e.g., internal energy market, renewables, decarbonisation frameworks).
* Basic understanding of the functioning of the energy system.
* Fluency in English and another European language.
* Ability to translate complex legal frameworks into practical advice.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
* Highly motivated to engage in the energy transition and interest in dealing with highly technical topics.
* You are Brussels-based.
