Data Steward (KYC Domain – Freelance)
A major international bank is strengthening its Know Your Customer (KYC) domain as it migrates to a new banking platform. We are looking for a Data Steward to act as the main governance lead for the department, ensuring data quality, policy compliance, and stakeholder alignment across all KYC data assets.
You will be the bridge between technical data teams and business stakeholders, translating enterprise data policies into actionable frameworks for the KYC domain, and representing the team at the Data Quality Board.
Responsibilities
* Own and drive data governance activities within the KYC domain.
* Implement enterprise data policies, standards, and user agreements in the department.
* Define, monitor, and improve data quality metrics and frameworks.
* Map data lineage, sources, and transformations to ensure integrity and traceability.
* Represent the KYC team at the Data Quality Board and other governance forums.
* Act as the liaison between data engineers, architects, analysts, and business owners.
* Support the KYC team’s transition to the new banking platform from a data perspective.
Profile
* 5+ years’ experience in data stewardship, data governance, or related roles (preferably in banking/financial services).
* Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, quality standards, and compliance.
* Hands-on experience with data lineage, metadata, and quality tools.
* Understanding of KYC processes and regulatory requirements is an advantage.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to bridge technical and business needs.
