Duties and Role
Duties
Risk Management:
• Carries out risk management activities within a specific function, technical area or project of medium complexity.
• Identifies risks and vulnerabilities, assesses their impact and probability, develops mitigation strategies and reports to the
business.
• Involves specialists and domain experts as necessary. Configuration Management
• Ensure the configuration items (CIs) are uniquely identified with naming conventions.
• Contribute to operational processes for secure configuration, classification and management of CIs, and for verifying and
auditing configuration records.
• Ensure recommended corrective actions are taken for identified problems and issues.
Change Control
• Assesses, analyses, develops, documents and implements changes based on requests for change.
• Ensures that operational processes are in place for effective change control.
• Develops, configures and maintains tools to manage and report on the lifecycle of change requests.
• Identifies problems and issues and recommend corrective actions.
Software Development Life Cycle
• Identifies common issues and considerations for bringing a new product to marketplace.
• Describes major phases, checkpoints and deliverables.
IT Service Change Management
• Provides status reports for implemented IT service changes to
senior management.
• Implements routine changes in a live IT service environment.
• Generates schedule and time estimates for IT service changes.
• Participates in analyzing the risks, costs and benefits of proposed
IT service changes.
• Documents the procedures and changes made in IT service.
System Development Life Cycle
• Clarifies the similarities and differences among life cycles; easily labels and describe each phase.
• Explains the basic concepts of a structured approach to application development.
• Highlights the major phases, activities, checkpoints and deliverables in the system life cycle.
Release & Deployment
• Assesses and analyses release components for input to release scheduling.
• Explains the basic concepts for tools and methods for software delivery, deployment and configuration.
• Ensure release processes and procedures are followed.
Deliverables
1. The Contractor shall carry out all relevant tasks for the approval of a change request and its lifecycle management.
2. The Contractor shall carry out all relevant tasks associated to the Chair of Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Emergency CAB
3. The Contractor shall be responsible for the production of CAB agenda and minutes
4. The Contractor shall carry out all relevant tasks for the approval of Patches
5. The Contractor shall ensure all related patching activities are executed against stipulated KPIs
6. The Contractor shall provide advice to Business and Functional areas of Change and Patch Management Policy and Practice.
7. The Contractor shall carry out all relevant tasks to maintain Governance over all Change Requests
Requirements
8. NATO Secret security clearance
9. A university degree from a nationally recognised/certified University in a technical subject with substantial Information Technology (IT) content and 4 years of specific experience.
10. Exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency; that is, at least 4 years extensive and progressive expertise in the duties related to the function of the post.
11. 2 years of practical experience in managing change request from initiation to closure while engaging with relevant process owners and stakeholders.
