Hardware Engineer
Location: Hasselt (hybrid: majority on-site, with flexibility to move toward 2–3 days remote)
About the Role:
We are seeking a Hardware Engineer with strong embedded software and hardware expertise to join a dynamic and growing team. This is an opportunity for a technically driven engineer to take ownership of hardware control and signal analysis while bridging the gap between user interfaces and underlying hardware. The role is suited to an ambitious candidate with an industrial engineering background who is eager to grow within a young, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Control, steer, and optimize hardware systems.
* Analyse signal strength and performance across devices.
* Program and integrate AMPR cameras for real-time localization.
* Work on signal processing and antenna/wifi optimization.
* Develop and maintain C/C++ applications, including wrappers to C#.
* Design and review PCB layouts.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to connect hardware and software layers.
* Support FPGA development (experience highly desirable).
* Provide technical insights to improve industrial hardware solutions.
Essential Technical Skills:
* Strong programming experience in C/C++.
* Knowledge of RS585 communication protocols.
* Experience with PCB design.
* Familiarity with FPGA programming (a strong plus).
* Ability to bridge C++ to C# for hardware interaction.
* Background in signal processing and localization systems.
* Hands-on experience with industrial engineering and embedded systems.
Desired Profile:
* 1–3 years’ experience in a related engineering role.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to thrive in a young, fast-paced team environment.
* Eager to learn, grow, and take on more responsibility over time.
Language Skills:
* English (essential).
* Dutch (preferred, negotiable).
* French (advantageous).
