ASTRID is the specialized telecom operator for emergency and security services in Belgium. We provide reliable communication tools that are essential for public safety and our users' core tasks. We are embarking on the strategic NextGenCom program to develop a future-proof, high-performing, and mission-critical communication network (5G-proof).
The Role: Technical Project Manager MCx
As a Technical Project Manager MCx (Mission Critical Voice, Video, or Data), you will be responsible for implementing critical applications on mobile devices and managing strategic technical building blocks and projects. Your goal is to implement critical applications on mobile devices within the NextGenCom program, which aims to provide a secure and high-performing alternative to TETRA technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead analyses and design tasks for the development of (mobile) products or solutions.
Design and propose solutions based on deep product knowledge and stakeholder expectations.
Bridge the gap between business and technical teams, translating complex needs into clear concepts.
Manage projects in line with the overall strategy, focusing on cost optimization and technological innovation.
Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure optimal implementations aligned with the product strategy.
Your Profile
Education/Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree (Engineering diploma) in Electronics/Telecommunications or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in managing and designing mobile applications, or as a Technical Project Manager/Product Owner in a mission-critical context.
Technical Expertise:
Relevant expertise in telecom (digital communication, virtual network setups).
Familiarity with MNO operations, 4G/5G networks (CORE-RAN), SIM technologies, applications & features.
Ideally, knowledge of IT networking (IP & VLAN, switching, security, virtualization) and understanding of mobile network architecture and RAN.
Skills:
Strong project management and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with Agile methodology and tools (MS-Project, Jira/Confluence a plus).
You are analytical, communicative, and creative ("out of the box" thinking).
