Job Summary
The Senior HR Business Partner serves as a strategic partner to the business and a trusted advisor to leaders across deSter's global organization.
Based in Hoogstraten and reporting directly to the Global Head of HR, this role plays a critical part in supporting the execution of deSter's business strategy by driving organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, employee engagement and a performance-driven culture.
The role partners closely with the Management Team and functional leaders to ensure that people strategies are aligned with business objectives and that organizational capabilities are developed to support deSter's growth ambitions.
As the first point of contact for employees located in countries or locations without dedicated local HR support, the Senior HR Business Partner Global ensures a consistent employee experience while balancing local business needs with global HR standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner to the Management Team and functional leaders, providing strategic guidance on organizational effectiveness and people-related decisions.
* Drive the implementation of a performance-driven culture by supporting leaders in setting clear expectations, strengthening accountability, differentiating performance, and fostering a culture of continuous feedback and development.
* Coach and challenge managers on leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, team dynamics, performance management and organizational health.
* Partner with managers to attract, develop and retain high-performing talent, ensuring robust workforce planning and succession planning across key functions.
* Serve as the primary HR contact for employees located in Hoogstraten and in countries without dedicated local HR support, ensuring a consistent employee experience and providing guidance on employee relations, policy interpretation and people matters.
* Manage complex employee relations cases and support leaders in addressing performance, conduct and workplace issues in line with company values and local legislation.
* Analyze people data and organizational trends to identify risks, opportunities and actions that improve business performance, engagement and retention.
* Contribute to global HR initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening management capability, organizational effectiveness, employee experience and operational excellence.
* Collaborate closely with HR Centers of Expertise to ensure the effective implementation of talent, rewards, learning and engagement programs.
* Continuously challenge existing practices and drive improvements that enhance organizational effectiveness, simplify processes and support deSter's growth ambitions.
Education:
* Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development or related discipline – or equivalent by experience.
Work Experience:
* 8-10+ years of progressive HR experience.
* Strong HR Business Partnering background.
* Experience supporting senior leaders in international organizations.
* Strong change management and organizational development experience.
Technical skills:
* Fluent in English and Dutch – any additional language is an asset
* Good knowledge of Belgian social legislation
* Used to work in matrix international environment and in remote set-up
* Experience with Workday is an asset
