For an engineering customer in Antwerp, we are searching for a freelance Project Lead to coordinate projects across multiple clients within their industrial automation portfolio. This role is primarily focused on project coordination, stakeholder management, and follow-up, rather than deep technical execution. However, a solid understanding of industrial automation environments is essential to effectively communicate with engineering teams and customers.
The ideal candidate acts as the central coordination point between customers, internal engineering teams, and service departments, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to quality expectations.
Responsibilities
* Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers
* Coordinate project activities between customers, engineering teams, and service departments
* Track project progress, milestones, risks, and deliverables
* Organize and lead project follow-up meetings and status reviews
* Ensure clear communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Support planning of resources and project priorities
* Identify risks and escalate issues when needed
* Follow up on maintenance, reliability, and lifecycle service activities
* Ensure documentation, reporting, and administrative project tasks are properly maintained
* Support continuous improvement of project coordination processes
Profile
* Experience in a project coordination, project management, or customer coordination role
* Exposure to the industrial automation industry is required
* Experience in (one or several) industrial automation software environments, control hardware and instrumentation environments, industrial networks and communication systems, connection infrastructure (cabling, panels, interfaces), maintenance and reliability concepts, service and lifecycle management in industrial environments
* Familiarity with industrial environments such as Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, Energy & Utilities etc.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Ability to manage multiple customers and priorities simultaneously
* Structured and proactive working style
* Problem-solving and decision-facilitation mindset
* Experience working in system integrators or engineering service companies is a bonus
