We’re hiring an Oracle DBA to take ownership of performance, cost optimisation, and platform efficiency across a high-impact Oracle estate.

You’ll be working on Exadata (ExaCC), ZFS, and ZDLRA, driving real improvements in how databases perform, scale, and cost. This is a hands-on role with visibility, influence, and the chance to shape best practices across teams.
What you’ll do
Optimise Oracle database performance through query tuning, compression, and indexing strategies
Maximise ExaCC efficiency by fine-tuning CPU allocation and reducing waste
Improve backup and recovery across ZFS and ZDLRA, balancing cost and reliability
Partner with development teams to improve SQL quality and database design
Lead and support key initiatives including Kerberos authentication and Oracle Client upgrades
Identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities across the database estate
Own and maintain clear technical documentation (runbooks, SOPs, architecture)
Mentor team members and run knowledge-sharing sessions to raise overall capability

Bring experience across Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, or Azure Synapse into hybrid/multi-cloud optimisation
Help define and share cross-platform best practices
What we’re looking for
Strong Oracle DBA experience with a focus on performance tuning and optimisation
Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills, with experience handling complex workloads
Hands-on experience with ExaCC, ZFS, and ZDLRA is highly desirable
Familiarity with Kerberos authentication and Oracle Client upgrades
Experience documenting processes and sharing knowledge across teams
Clear communicator, comfortable working across technical and non-technical stakeholders xphnsxz
Pragmatic, problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency and cost reduction
