Cathie is seeking a dynamic, self-starting Business Development Lead with a Geotechnical Engineering background to drive growth of our offshore services across Continental Europe and the APAC region. This key commercial role involves client engagement, leading strategic proposals, building strong relationships and networks, and identifying new business opportunities.

Working closely with the Business Development team, senior management, and engineering teams, you’ll manage the full business development process and help expand our geoscience and engineering services. The ideal candidate will have experience in offshore markets, strong client-facing skills, and confidence in managing complex proposals.

The role requires regular travel to the UK and Europe for client visits, regional office meetings, and industry conferences.

What you’ll do

* Lead the preparation of high-quality, competitive proposals and bids
* Build and manage client relationships, identifying new opportunities and winning new work
* Work closely with technical teams (geotechnical, geophysics, geology, GIS) to shape integrated service offerings
* Support contract negotiations, risk reviews and pricing discussions
* Represent Cathie at client meetings, industry events and conferences
* Contribute to commercial, technical and strategic growth initiatives
* Use CRM tools to manage the proposal pipeline, track leads, and report on key business development metrics
* Assist with day-to-day BD activities including responses to RFIs, tracking proposal outcomes, and monitoring market intelligence
* Provide commercial input to project teams and junior staff where needed

What we’re looking for

* 5+ years’ experience in offshore wind, oil & gas, or marine infrastructure
* Proven commercial awareness and confidence engaging directly with clients
* Experience leading proposals or securing new business, working closely with technical experts to meet Client expectations.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to developing client relationships
* Background in engineering or geoscience is helpful but not essential
* Experience managing projects or teams is an advantage
* Willingness to travel for client meetings and business development
