We are actively looking for a Project Development and Site Operations Manager to join our Project Development & Site Operations team. This team is responsible for delivering battery storage projects, once contracts are signed from permitting and grid connection requests to the engineering, construction, and operational readiness of each site. After the go live, this team ensures O& M of the managed BESS assets and monitors the technical performance.
Bnewable operates a cloud-based optimization platform "Voltana" that forecasts market opportunities, trades flexibility, and sends control setpoints to battery sites.
To enable this, each site requires proper telemetry, networking, and a local control system (PLC/EMS) that connects the battery installation with the cloud platform. Coordinate the configuration and deployment of PLC-based energy management systems used to safely execute cloud control signals. (Ensure correct measurement points, telemetry, and communication links between the battery system, the local controller, and Bnewable's cloud platform.
Support commissioning and testing to ensure the system operates reliably and respects site constraints.
Lead a project to capture & display operational battery data to generate alerts and monitor system states, temperatures, and cell voltages.
Help establish processes that ensure all assets remain continuously operational and optimally controlled.
Cooperate with the platform development team to integrate new local energy management systems & gateway solutions.
Help standardize the engineering approach for site control systems and integrations.
Support the engineering and delivery of new battery storage projects together with the project development team.
In a later stage when the LEMS is a standardised and stable solution, the role will standard evolve towards BESS project management within the same team. manage the project cycle from start to finish with a strong focus on technical feasibility and implementation and ensuring the highest quality and reliability standards.
run several projects in parallel that are in different development stages.
lead the design for the integration of battery energy storage systems for a seamless installation of the Bnewable proposition within the customer site.
challenge and work both during the design and building phase (including site visits) with electrical / EPC contractors on the required electrical equipment including battery modules, inverters, transformers, mid / low voltage panels and protection systems.
act as the primary technical contact for project-related technical studies, collaborating with DSO and TSO on orientation and detailed studies.
gather and bundle the required data for permitting purposes. Submit and follow up of the permit application with external consultants.

Work experience in the energy industry is a plus, however, we also welcome candidates without prior work experience or recent graduates.
demonstrating proficiency in working with single-line diagrams and the ability to swiftly analyse the electrical configuration of an industrial site. strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
you like to go on site when necessary during design and development of the battery project. native fluency in Dutch and/or French and work proficiency in English, both oral and written.
