About the Role
Our client, a leading consultancy, is partnering with one of the world’s largest biotech companies to establish a new government affairs strategy within Europe. This role sits at the heart of a high-profile, long-term project focused on policy and regulatory issues impacting the CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation) sector.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the development and delivery of an EU-wide public affairs function, working directly with senior leadership on both the consultancy and client side. The initial contract is for 12 months, with a strong ambition to transition into a permanent position. The compensation for the role is mid range, depending on your experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver a comprehensive EU government relations strategy
* Map stakeholders and build engagement plans across EU institutions and member states
* Provide strategic counsel on health and industrial policy issues relevant to the biotech and CDMO sector
* Brief senior executives and act as a trusted advisor on public affairs matters
* Collaborate across internal health, trade, and geographical practices
* Play a central role in embedding the function internally and identifying future growth opportunities
Candidate Profile
Experience:
* 3–7 years' experience in public affairs, government relations, or EU policy advisory
* Strong understanding of biotech, biopharma, or health policy (CDMO experience is a plus)
* Experience gained in consultancy, trade associations, or in-house roles
* Familiarity with the EU regulatory landscape and biotech policy frameworks
* Knowledge of the EU Biotech Act is an advantage
* Location: London/Brussels/Berlin
