About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer to enhance our development team. This role is a blend of hands-on coding and technical leadership, focusing on driving the technical direction and quality within the team. You will be instrumental in making a significant impact on our product, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and especially our technical agility.
Key responsibilities
* Act as a technical lead within the development team, guiding technical decisions and implementation strategies.
* Design, develop, and deploy high-quality, scalable applications using our primary tech stack.
* Provide critical technical input during the refinement process, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and maintainability of features.
* Collaborate closely with the Head of Development, Product Owner and other stakeholders to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
* Drive improvements in our SDLC, focusing on automation, CI/CD, and best practices.
* Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
* Actively contribute to enhancing the technical agility of the team and the broader engineering organization.
* Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural principles.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
Required technical skills
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the following technologies:
* Node.js / Express / Javascript
* Typescript knowledge is a plus
* PostgreSQL (or similar relational database systems) / Database modelling
* Sequelize (or similar ORM frameworks)
* Docker / Docker Compose
* AWS: ECS / ECR / RDS / WAF / APIGW / Route53
* Terraform or similar IaaS frameworks
Experience with building production grade web applications, RESTful APIs and distributed systems is expected, as well as knowing your way around basic engineering tooling such as Git, Docker, Npm, AI, etc.
Production grade experience with blockchain based solutions is a plus for us, but not a limiting factor as long as you have a healthy interest and strong opinion (positive and/or negative are acceptable) on the technology domain.

As we are building the next generation of our platform, your technical expertise and overall can-do mindset will be a major driving force in building a scalable, secure and practical platform for all of our customers.
Qualifications
* Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* +10 years of professional experience in software development, with a significant focus on the tech stack mentioned.
* Proven experience acting in a Senior Software Engineer or Tech Lead capacity, or equivalent experience proving a big individual technical impact
* Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Fluent in English. Dutch is a plus.
* A strong passion for improving product quality, team processes, and overall technical health.
* Based in Belgium, and open to a hybrid job in Antwerp (in-office min. 2-3 days per week).
