About the role
We are looking for a chef to support the daily kitchen operations of our signature restaurant, eppo, while contributing to the diverse culinary offering of YUST Antwerp.
Team
You report directly to the Food & Events Manager and work closely with the Head of Service to ensure synergy between kitchen and front‑of‑house team.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service and consistent quality across all shifts.
* Guide and support the kitchen team during service, fostering a positive work environment and managing daily team schedule adjustments.
* Oversee mise en place, prep planning, and service readiness for the restaurant, rooftop, and events.
* Manage stock levels, conduct regular stock counts, and assist with ordering and supplier coordination.
* Ensure dishes are presented according to standards while strictly enforcing food safety, hygiene, and HACCP regulations.
* Support recipe updates, food cost control, and digital documentation in systems such as Growzer.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role (hotel environment a plus).
* Proven experience in a professional kitchen.
* Strong organisational and communication skills with a hands‑on, no‑nonsense mentality.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain high standards during peak hours.
* Solid understanding of food cost, stock management, and kitchen administration.
