ASIC TEST ENGINEER - LEUVEN (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented ASIC Test Engineer with a focus on Analog and Mixed-Signal circuits to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing test strategies to validate performance, ensure reliability, and enable high-volume manufacturing of custom ASICs.
You will work across the full product lifecycle - from early design engagement and silicon validation to production test development and yield optimization. The ideal candidate has strong analog fundamentals, hands-on experience with lab test equipment and automation tools, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This is a cross-functional role involving close collaboration with design, layout, product, and manufacturing teams.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative semiconductor products in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Your work will directly influence product quality, test coverage, and time-to-market.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute test strategies for analog/mixed-signal ASICs from prototype through high-volume production.
* Design and implement comprehensive test plans, including bench-level validation, automated test development, and characterization.
* Collaborate with IC design teams to understand functional specs and integrate Design-for-Test (DFT) features.
* Create and maintain automated test software and scripts using platforms such as Python, LabVIEW, or C/C++.
* Perform device-level characterization and correlation, identifying root causes of test failures or parametric deviations.
* Work with hardware teams to design test PCBs, load boards, and custom interface circuitry.
* Support ATE development and debug (e.g., Teradyne, Advantest, or NI-based platforms).
* Generate detailed test documentation and reports; analyze performance across process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) corners.
* Assist in production ramp-up, yield tracking, and reliability testing (e.g., HTOL, ESD, Latch-Up).
* Contribute to design and product reviews, focusing on testability and manufacturing efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* 3+ years of hands-on experience in testing analog and mixed-signal ASICs.
* Strong understanding of analog circuit behavior (e.g., ADCs, DACs, amplifiers, PLLs, regulators).
* Proficient with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, SMUs, signal generators, spectrum/network analyzers.
* Experience in test automation and data analysis, using tools such as Python, MATLAB, JMP, or similar.
* Familiarity with semiconductor test flows, statistical analysis, and design verification principles.
The Offer:
* A permanent, full-time employment contract
* A salary & benefits package commensurate with experience
