Responsibilities
1. Assess product designs, construction plans, and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
2. Evaluate construction methods for adherence to safety and quality regulations.
3. Interpret and provide guidance on local and international regulatory codes and standards.
4. Conduct inspections and perform tests to verify compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
5. Develop, implement, enforce, and update policies, procedures, and control plans.
6. Contribute to a robust compliance oversight culture within the scope of European and local construction regulations.
7. Ensure the implementation of the compliance framework, including identifying and addressing gaps for remediation.
8. Maintain a risk-based framework focusing on major compliance issues and risks, and perform ongoing risk monitoring.
9. Implement and follow up on compliance training and communication plans.
10. Participate in internal committees on compliance topics.
11. Provide expertise and support to internal stakeholders on compliance matters.
12. Perform compliance controls, report results, and monitor action plans regularly.
13. Analyze test and inspection data to identify non-compliance areas.
14. Prepare and present compliance reports to management and regulatory bodies.
15. Implement and monitor corrective actions for non-compliance issues.
16. Collaborate with design and construction teams to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance throughout projects.
17. Train staff on compliance best practices.
18. Communicate with regulatory bodies to address queries and submit documentation.
19. Maintain close communication with construction and engineering managers.
20. Conduct regular meetings with teams and regulatory bodies on compliance issues.
21. Attend contractor meetings as required.
22. Review and comment on subcontractor ITPs, quality plans, method statements, and related documentation before work begins.
23. Coordinate internal review processes for subcontractor documents.
24. Assist subcontractors with submission of ITPs and ensure installation compliance.
25. Collect records to confirm compliance with standards.
26. Ensure testing aligns with project specifications and evaluate the need for additional tests.
27. Coordinate inspections and tests with subcontractors and superintendents during construction.
28. Assess contractor compliance with procedures and retain records of assessments and corrective actions.
29. Identify quality deficiencies and issue notifications or reports for resolution.
30. Implement HSE procedures in line with legal requirements and environmental standards.
31. Promote awareness of unsafe acts and conditions.
Qualifications
* Experience in regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
* Knowledge of EU Directives, Belgian and Flanders legislation related to social and economic directives.
* Excellent communication skills for liaising with regulatory bodies, report writing, and staff training.
* ISO 9000 Lead Auditor certification or similar is preferred.
* Strong client-facing and internal communication skills.
* Leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and influence senior management.
* Fluent in Dutch and English.
