The Vesuvius Flow Control division focuses on developing leading-edge core engineering technologies to be used in the continuous casting process.
Inside Vesuvius Flow Control, the Robotic team focus its activity on engineering and development of mechatronic solutions for the continuous casting process.
What does your role involve?
To support our growth, we are looking for a R&D Mechatronics Engineer. Our R&D Mechatronic team based in Ghlin designs new robotic solutions for continuous casting application.
Integrated in this team, you will be in charge of feasibility, conception, design testing, commissioning and documenting of these new solutions, working in collaboration with R&D automation engineers.
What is your job?
* Build from scratch or complete design specification coming from customer needs or product improvement needs
* Build development guidelines and specifications for subcontracting and follow contractor job.
* Understand the whole picture of a robot solution integration in steel plant
* Be the mechanical leader for some development projects: task list owner, planning, mechanical conception, follow-up of other engineers working on your project.
* Work in collaboration with mechanical leader for some development projects.
* Organize, supervise and, if necessary, take part of the assembly of the designed solution shop test in workshop, being a support to Operations team
* Testing and commissioning of new solutions at customer location.
* Participate in the continuous improvement and propose any change from your observations and examination
* Support automation, electrical and mechatronics installation and commissioning
Requirements
Are you the right candidate?
* Degree of Engineer in industrial mechanics, mechatronics
* 5-10 years of relevant experience
* Solid knowledge of mechanical engineering (able to design pieces and machines from A to Z, feasibility, identification of production means according to technical needs and budget, …)
* Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and oxygen, sensors, actuators and instrumentation
* You master CAD, 3D software and 2D software interests
* Relevant experience with SW & Autocad or equivalent
* Experience with FEA
* Able to develop and demonstrate your autonomy and your ability to take up challenges
* Good planning skills and sense of priorities (structured approach of the job)
* New technologies oriented, cultivating innovation
* Good speaker with very good communication skills
* Good English communication skills
* Good team player and willingness to work closely with other colleagues
* Available to travel worldwide 30% of the time.
* Experience working on robotic integration projects is a plus
* Experience working in steel plant environment is a plus
* Basic knowledge in PLC Hardware and soft (Siemens S7 /TIA) is a plus
