Job Title: Safety Assurance Specialist
Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Health and Safety Advisor to oversee the implementation of safety policies and procedures on-site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, regulations, and company standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* Leadership Role: Lead the implementation of H&S standards on the construction site, driving a culture of safety-first and continuous improvement.
* Site Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular site inspections and audits, reporting findings to the Project Manager and HSEQ Manager.
* Risk Management: Assist in the development of Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and Safe Plans of Action (SPAs).
* Training and Inductions: Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to site staff and subcontractors.
* Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents and near-misses, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented.
* Communication: Liaise with local authorities and client safety representatives to ensure alignment with legal and contractual obligations.
* Documentation and Records: Maintain accurate records of all H&S documentation, incidents, audits, and training.
Requirements:
* Experience: Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Health and Safety role.
* Certifications: Relevant Health and Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent).
* Language Skills: Fluent in English; French and/or Dutch is an advantage.
* Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office, incident reporting systems, auditing tools.
* Soft Skills: Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive safety performance.
