Fugro is seeking a highly experienced, autonomous, and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Land Site Screening & Consulting Team in Belgium. This role combines technical expertise, project management, and mentoring of junior engineers within a dynamic and international environment.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will:
1. Lead Business Development: Contribute actively to the growth of our land consultancy services.
2. Manage Projects: Plan, coordinate, and oversee complex geotechnical projects from start to finish.
3. Mentor Junior Engineers: Supervise and support junior team members in their technical and professional development.
4. Provide Technical Expertise: Deliver advanced geotechnical analysis and interpretation for a wide range of engineering challenges.
5. Design Geotechnical Structures: Work on soil improvement, tailing dams, quay walls, retaining walls, and reclamation projects.
6. Collaborate Across Disciplines: Advise structural engineers on foundation design, bearing capacity, settlement, and soil pressure.
7. Oversee Field Investigations: Supervise geotechnical site investigations and ensure quality control of soil testing.
8. Ensure Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety procedures and promote a culture of safety.
Your Profile
We are looking for candidates who combine technical excellence with leadership and autonomy. Ideally, you have:
9. Education: Master’s or PhD in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent.
10. Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering.
11. Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of geotechnical practices and markets in Belgium.
12. Languages: Fluent in Dutch or French and English. Additional languages are a plus.
13. Leadership: Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.
14. Autonomy: Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
15. Mobility: Willingness to travel regularly within Belgium and occasionally abroad.
