Description
We are looking for an experienced IS Team Leader to join a modern glass container manufacturing environment. In this role, you will work in day shift and take overall responsibility for multiple production teams operating in a 6-shift system.
As Team Leader of the Individual Section (IS) machines, you ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards for glass bottle manufacturing.
With your technical expertise, leadership skills, and focus on quality, you will play a key role in optimizing production processes and contributing to a sustainable future in glass packaging.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
* Lead and coach 6 teams of IS operators, each supported by a shift leader.
* Ensure a safe, efficient and high-quality production process and promote this mindset across all teams.
* Monitor and adjust machine settings, feeder parameters and production parameters within defined limits.
* Oversee production planning to guarantee continuous output and operational stability.
* Monitor process parameters and quality checks and support root cause analysis in case of technical issues or process deviations.
* Work closely with shift leaders, engineers and other departments within the organization.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures and act as a role model for safe working practices.
* Coordinate with maintenance teams to plan and follow up repairs, ensuring minimal production interruptions.
Quality, Innovation & Process Improvement
* Safeguard product and process quality in collaboration with the quality department.
* Actively contribute to process improvements, digitalization and innovation initiatives.
* Analyze production and machine parameters to improve efficiency, process stability and sustainability.
* Track production data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
People & Team Development
* Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to support and motivate teams.
* Train and mentor new employees, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
* Ensure clear and transparent communication between departments.
* Support shift leaders during performance and development discussions.
* Manage shift schedules, vacation planning and workforce balance.
* Participate in recruitment and selection of new operators.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
* Monitor and report production performance, KPIs and improvement plans.
* Ensure accuracy and reliability of process and production data.
* Provide input for budget planning, maintenance needs and workforce planning.
* Ensure consistent processes across teams by maintaining clear documentation and operational standards.

Profile
We are looking for a technically skilled professional with proven experience in glass manufacturing.
Requirements:
* Experience in glass industry is a must
* Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanics, Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a process or manufacturing environment.
* Mandatory experience in glass production, preferably in hot end or IS machine operations.
* Experience in a leadership role, or strong motivation to grow into one.
* Solid knowledge of glass forming processes and IS machine systems.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on quality, efficiency and safety.
* Excellent communication and people management skills.
* Good knowledge of Excel.
* Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
* Passion for continuous improvement, sustainability and teamwork.
