About the Role:
Our client is looking for an experienced and creative Lead UI Designer to join their team in Belgium. As a key member of the product design team, you will lead UI efforts across digital platforms, ensuring high-quality, user-centric design solutions that align with their brand and product vision. You'll collaborate closely with UX designers, developers, and product managers to create visually compelling and intuitive interfaces.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the UI design process from concept to final implementation for web and mobile applications.
* Create high-fidelity mockups, design systems, and component libraries that scale.
* Maintain and evolve the visual language and brand consistency across all platforms.
* Mentor and guide junior and mid-level designers.
* Collaborate with UX designers to turn wireframes and user flows into beautiful, intuitive user interfaces.
* Work closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest UI trends, tools, and best practices.
* Conduct design reviews and contribute to design critique sessions.
Requirements:
* 5+ years of experience in UI design, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior role.
* A strong portfolio showcasing excellent UI work across various platforms.
* Proficiency in modern design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, etc.).
* Solid understanding of UX principles and responsive design.
* Experience with design systems and component-based design approaches.
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus.
* EU work authorization or residency in Belgium.
Nice to Have:
* Experience working in agile product teams.
* Animation or interaction design skills (e.g., using Principle, After Effects, or Lottie).
* Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
