Solution Development Engineer
Security Solutions
What you will do
The Solution Development Engineer is a member of the sales support team for thedivisionFire and Security and reports to the Solution Development Manager. In this role you work closely with the sales- and operations team to developthe solidproposals and present the best possible security solution to the customer. You will work within a dynamic environment where high quality and innovative solutions are the standard.
You will manage the pre-sales-engineering process from the customer’s requirements translating it to a commercial offer whichcontainsthe best solution for the Client. You will mostly be involved in calculatingthe largerand more complex projects.
The positionis located inBelgium (G-B), however occasional travel to our customers isrequired.
How you will do it
As a Solution DevelopmentEngineeryouhave the ability towork out the best solution for the client technically and commercially. You willbe in charge ofyour own process and are expected to collect all needed information within the deadlines. Responsibilities of your role include, but are not limited to:
1. Using the estimation tools & procedures
2. Management of data frompreviouscalculations
3. Pre-bid review meetings
4. Evaluation of the risks which couldimpactprices
5. You manage /validateprices of subcontractors to incorporate in your calculation
6. Assistancein specification deviations or interpretation differences in relation to request from customer
7. Cooperation with sales- and operations team to understand the customer’s requirements
8. Site visits to understand customer’s requirements if needed
9. Updating price databases for materials / hourly rates etc.
What we look for
10. Bachelor’s degree in Engineeringoran equivalentdegree.
11. Experience in a similar role within a technology driven environment
12. Highly preferable: experience with Fire Detection & Security Systems knowledge
13. Conceptual and pragmatic thinker
14. Self-starter and able to lead the process
15. Used to work in a team environment and collaborate closely with team members to drive projects to a success
16. Communicating effectively
17. Proactive attitude
18. Language knowledge: Dutch and English
19. Is familiar with MS-Word, MS-Excel; MS-Visio and MS-Projects
