General Description:
3. Defines a project and coordinates its implementation in line with organizational project management standards, policies, and principles. Responsible for meeting project objectives within quality, time, and budget targets, and for managing associated risks.
4. Typically requires specialist project management experience, relevant qualifications in industry-standard project management techniques, as well as an understanding of the project technical and business issues.
Role:
5. Leads the development of the project proposal or plan to determine timeframe, budget ,procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and assignment of available resources to various phases of the project.
6. Defines the overall project governance and organisation, the deliverable scope and the associated responsibilities.
7. Oversees the business, technical, organizational, management and financial aspects of the project.
8. Regularly reports project progress at all levels, including senior management and/or the sponsor/client.
9. Challenges, and if required may negotiates changes in project specification or scope with the project sponsor/client.
10. Coordinates a team of specialists to implement project tasks.
11. Acts as the interface and facilitator between the project sponsor/customer and the various IT services involved in the project
12. May negotiate and manage contracts with external suppliers with the support of specialized teams (. Corporate Procurement)
13. May analyse requirements with the project sponsor/customer and with the support of the Enterprise Architect / Application Architects in order to evaluate the project feasibility within the scope of a pre-defined strategy.
14. Manages projects using stable project management processes, strategy and frameworks
15. Assists senior management to gain organizational buy-in where required; maintains and follows-up throughout the project.
16. Contributes to incremental improvement of project management and systems development processes.
17. Manages relationships with external suppliers at the project level.
