Protection Lawyer MyData-TRUST is looking to hire a highly
motivated Medior Data Protection Lawyer for it’s growing Belgium
office. The Data Protection Lawyer contributes to the
implementation of the compliance projects by providing legal
support to the Operational Team. The Data Protection Lawyer takes
part to community of practice and/or working groups in relation
with Data Protection that aim to improve MD-T services. The Data
Protection Lawyer stays informed about recent developments in the
Data Protection field and assesses the impact of those changes for
MD-T business and clients. What are we looking for ?
Responsibilities - Acts as legal support in the context of his/her
client portofolio. - Respond to operational team and client’s
requests for legal advice, provides information on legal and
regulatory obligations in terms of data protection and recommends
pragmatic & feasible solutions. - Proactively keeping abreast
of regulatory, case law and doctrinal developments in the field for
continuous development on MD-T’s legal expertise. - Suggest
innovative solutions in line with MD-T’s strategy and provide
relevant assessment, where necessary. - Advice on key legal
frameworks and methodologies, including DPIA, TIA, privacy notes,
contracts and being able to quickly pin-point the concern. -
Manages and coordinates projects. - Enhances the quality and
practicability in data protection legislation by developing
knowledge on legal issues and providing support on combating them.
- Participates in internal working groups analyzing and
interpreting data protection laws and practices in order to
continuously improve MyData-TRUST services. - Carry out legal
monitoring and stays informed about the latest development,
enhancing legal methodologies, tools and best practices. - Support
marketing and thought leadership efforts by contributing to
industry publications, webinars and external engagements. -
Organizes internal information sessions on legal developments in
the field of data protection in order to keep operational knowledge
up-to-date. Qualifications - 4 years of practical experience in
GDPR & Data Protection Laws Compliance (e.g., GDPR, ePrivacy,
DGA, EHDS, NIS 2) - Experience in the Life Science industry,
including in-house or external legal, compliance, operational or
consulting roles supporting pharma, biotech, med-tech, and/or
clinical research organizations is nice to have - Experience on
privacy by Design & Default Implementation and risk assessments
in collaboration with operational, IT, IT Security, AI, data
management, data governance and digital marketing teams - Knowledge
of IT & Cybersecurity Principles (encryption, access controls,
data breaches) - Master’s in Law - CIPP/E, CIPM, ISO 270001 and/or
IAPP Certification - Working knowledge of co-regulatory frameworks
including ISO 27001 - Excellent analytical thinking & critical
mindset - Adaptability & flexibility in a fast paced
environment - Strong and clear communication skills with ability to
deliver qualitative projects in a timely manner - Ability to
articulate pragmatic solutions to meet client needs - Experience
working with international multidisciplinary teams - Fluency in
English - Fluency in Portuguese is nice to have but not mandatory
