Senior Mechanical Construction Manager

Job Description
As a Senior Mechanical Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and directing construction projects from conception through to completion.
You will review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs, while overseeing all onsite and offsite construction activities to ensure compliance with building and safety regulations. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and industry experts to successfully deliver complex, cutting-edge projects.
Key responsibilities include:
* Determining project schedule requirements and supporting the development of project schedules
* Preparing and managing 12-week look-ahead programmes
* Reporting on site progress and highlighting future issues/roadblocks to the Main Contractor and Contracts Manager
* Conducting regular site safety walks and ensuring timely close-out of actions
* Conducting regular quality inspections and ensuring prompt resolution of issues
* Leading commissioning activities, ensuring timely completion and proactive resolution of roadblocks
Skills & Requirements
* 10+ years’ experience in a Construction Manager / Senior Supervisor role (pharmaceutical experience essential)
* 5+ years’ experience managing teams (up to 10 supervisors and 100+ craft personnel), including manpower planning, execution and productivity management
* Experience with weekly reporting to a Contracts Manager
* Excellent technical knowledge of piping (supporting, installation, welding, testing, sloping and handover)
* Strong understanding of quality requirements associated with piping installation
* Proficient in Navisworks 3D model navigation, isometric drawings, and supervisor work pack monitoring
* Strong experience managing project schedules
* Commercial awareness
* Good knowledge of construction health & safety requirements, including implementation of RAMS, SPAs and other H&S processes
* Background in piping installation; hygienic piping and orbital welding experience advantageous
* Third-level qualification in Construction / Mechanical Engineering (advantageous)
